If you don't have the facilities to collect semen yourself, we will come to you, or you can bring your stallion to one of our walk in centres. We can also organise shipping of chilled semen when necessary.
We collect and distribute chilled semen for a number of stallions in England & Wales. If you are interested in this service, please e-mail or call us to discuss it.
In 2008, semen collected and distributed by equine reproduction resulted in 112 pregnancies. The international average conception rate -per cycle- is approximately 55% for chilled AI.
Semen despatched by Equine Reproduction Ltd had a 76% -per cycle- conception rate. 98% of all mares we sent semen to are in foal, with only those known to be "problem mares" not being pregnant at the end of the 2008 season.
£75 per collection plus call out charge of 45p per mile if we come to you. Package prices available to include distribution costs.

Every stallion is different, and every stallion's semen works best with a specific extender. Establishing which extender works best with your stallion's semen can dramatically improve his fertility, and that can make the stud season a great deal easier when you're shipping chilled semen. It can be the difference between the mare owner acheiving a pregnancy, or receiving a shipment of dead sperm cells! Finding the right extender can be a little tricky, and somewhat frustratingly the right extender one season, might be the wrong extender the following season, and vice versa. We recommend that you undertake an evaluation at the start of every season to ensure that your stallion's fertility is maximised every year.

- Almost all stallions have semen that can be cooled to 5 degrees, and shipped to a location up to 48 hours away. Chilled semen is a fantastic tool, and when handled correctly, has very high success rates in terms of acheiving pregnancies!
Many different shippers are available, but we recommend three specific shippers: The Equitainer, from Hamilton Thorne which is a seriously durable shipper - the gold standard of shipping chilled semen; The Equine Express II from Exodus Breeders Corporation, and the Clipper from Hamilton Thorne. The Equine Express II and the Clipper are low-cost disposable shippers, which work very well in cooler climates like we have in the United Kingdom, and are much more affordable than the Equitainer.
